About the author
Sebastian Risch, born in Hamburg in 1964, learned early in life how unpredictable the world can be. His journey took him from northern Germany through Hesse to New Zealand—and eventually to Lower Franconia in Bavaria, where he lives today.
Originally trained as a cabinetmaker, he developed a keen sense for materials, shapes, and creative processes—an approach that also finds its way into his storytelling. The experiences he gathered across different regions and cultures flow authentically into his narratives.
Since receiving a cancer diagnosis in late 2025, writing has become even more important to him. Through his stories, he writes about life, about hope—and about how even in difficult times, new paths can emerge.
